1968 "Coke" Ranch

In 1968, Norman and his wife Dorothy embarked on a search for land, ultimately discovering the "Coke" Ranch previously owned by the Lupton Family, renowned Coca-Cola bottlers. 1971 "Horseshoe Bay"

Development commenced in 1971 with the inauguration of the Yacht Club, and the name "Horseshoe Bay" was chosen, inspired by a serendipitous encounter with a horseshoe while walking through the land. "One day Norman and I were standing in the middle of the dry lake bottom. I stumbled across a rusty horseshoe and picked it up. We decided that was a sign and settled the question of the name," recounted Wayne.
